TELL el-FARKHA (GHAZALA) 2009
Preliminary report on the activities of the Polish Archaeological Mission

The most recent excavation campaign lasted from 28th February to 27th April 2009. During this time all three tells forming this site were examined by reopening the previously established trenches with very small extensions on the Western and Eastern Koms
The team, headed by Dr Marek Chłodnicki and Prof. Krzysztof M. Ciałowicz included: Gaele Breand, Katarzyna Błaszczyk, Artur Buszek, Marcin Czarnowicz, Dr Joanna Dębowska, Frederic Guyot, Amber Hood, Maciej Jórdeczka, Grzegorz Pryc, - archaeologists, Dr Mariusz Jucha, Michał Rozwadowski - ceramologists, Anna Kozłowska, Joanna Wojdala - anthropologist, Prof. Maciej Pawlikowski, Anna Grochowina, Dr Małgorzata Mrozek-Wysocka - geologists, Dr Lucyna Kubiak-Martens - palaeobotanist, Karolina Rosińska-Stochaj - architect, Hubert Chudzio, Robert Słaboński, - photographer, Halina Żarska-Chłodnicka - documentalists and students of archaeology from Jagiellonian University, Cracow and Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan. The Supreme Council of Antiquities was represented by Saad el Sayed Mansur.
The present campaign was carried out under the auspices of The Polish Centre of Miterranean Archaeology Warsaw University in Cairo, Jagiellonian University in Cracow and Archaeological Museum in Poznań.
